Default Disabling Active Handling and Traction Control

Since this is more C5 specific, I am going to try askign here first rather than in the drag racing section.

How can both active handling and traction control be disabled on a full drag car? I have numerous things deleted/removed on the car including the ABS system. If I foot brake the car, anything over 2500 RPM causes the car to break up and spudder. Is the only solution the LapTrax module?

Unhooking the SWPS Steering Wheel Position Sensor will disable the Active Handling.
Not sure about the Traction Control.

Can you not just hold down the button on the center console until it says traction control/active handle disabled?

ABS... perhaps unhook power from the ABS module? Seems like that'd do it to me.

Comp mode disables traction control but active handling is still on

Not looking for comp mode. I know that will leave AH on. Hold down the button down for 5-10 seconds and it will disable both.

Or is that only on C6's? I know I can disable both on mine.

Must be just c6 cause on c5 if you press it once it turns everything off. Hold it down for 5 to 10 secs turns comp mode on..

Op don't they make something to disable all that?

I installed this module a while back. It's similar to the LapTrax. It automatically puts the car into whatever initial mode you program it for (AH/TC, TC, Comp or neither) when you first start the car. You can defeat it by hitting the AH/TC button and turn it all off or hit it again to have it all back on. It keeps the car in the last stored mode until you reset/reprogram it so if, for instance, you always want AH/TC off, you program it for that and the car always starts in that mode.

Put it in Comp mode then push button and hold down for about 10 sec and it turns it all off.

To get to competitive driving as you already know you hold it down, my 2001 has no other options I know of.

Correct - my driver's manual says to press the AH/TC button once to turn them both off. I use the module above to keep whatever setting I want between ignition cycles.
