I have a LS1 in my 99 auto with a p1sc-1. I am planning on doing a refresh on my engine soon. Which engine makes more sense and less trouble to upgrade with my current blower and why? I just want a streetable 650rwhp that is fun to drive. Currently, I have the LS6 intake and exhaust

either will get you there with a blower but the ls3 is stronger and has better flowing heads to go higher down the road

If you just want to forge for strength , why not just order the lingenfelter
LS 1 short block, and increase your boost, probably the most economical way.

If we are discussing about boosted engines which should be forged anyway, is there really any benefit in LS3 (vs LS1 and LS6) besides more displacement and better flowing heads?

I know the LS3 is in fashion nowadays and I know how good bang for a buck it is but the bottom end being stronger than LS1/2/6? Based on what differences?

No doubt the LS3 is better but how much power do you want? 650Rwhp shouldn't be an issue on LS3 or LS6. Budget? Rest of you car support the extra power?

Most cost effective way is to refresh your ls6 and throw in some forged pistons, rods, and ARP head studs. Want 900+ do a stronger crank.

If you got money to play build up an ls3 and sell your ls6

I just refreshed and built my LS6 last winter. Its a measly 700rwhp and a pulley swap and larger fuel system away from 800rwhp.

Another option is to buy a forged short block from Thompson or another then transfer over all your stuff and sell your stock ls6 short block.

Not a ton of changes just the factory parts are getting better. Not the level of aftermarket forged but certainly better. More cubes and better flow makes the power easier as well with less stress. I'll lets the pros chime in from here but that's my .02

Ditto on the Thompson buy, I have one and it is holding up great an I'm slamming it with 800 now. Iron block, fully forged, great people (thanks Kyle) stock won't last long if your an adrenaline junky!

Well, all I can say is , if I had the opportunity to do it again,
I know where to save money, and spend it on the Pistons and rods,
Stock stroke would do me.
You could do this on the cheap, and have a reliable set up.
I have spent a small fortune, all good parts, but not totally needed!
