LG Motorsports Solid Engine Mounts
-RELEASE-
I should say re-release as we have had solid engine and transmission mounts for years now used in all of our race and track cars but we have recently made changes to them to make them lighter than the original designs.
Our billet aluminum C5/6 engine mounts are designed as a direct bolt in replacement for the OEM piece and have all required hardware supplied. They are slightly lower to add additional clearance for FAST intake manifolds.
Anthony, you must have read my mind.... How did you know I was removing my engine this weekend? I may pay you a visit tomorrow... Firstly, any additional noises? vibrations in cabin? I once installed another vendors rear trans brace, drove it for about 5 miles took it home and removed it! It too was lightweight billet...

I'll call you tomorrow...
There is a difference in the mounts for sure....OEM rubber style mounts are going to allow a lot of movement at the engine and isolate any vibrations from the driveline to keep things as smooth as possible. Poly mounts are a mix in between but seem to almost create more due to the fact they can move. Solid mounts at the engine and diff will only transmit any vibrations in the engine itself but in a lot of cases reduce the rocking effect.
How much lighter than stock motor mounts? We're trying anything and everything to get weight off the Vette. We're still at least a couple of hundred pounds away from being truly competitive. With a non-FRC, non-Z06, it's really tough.

If I had to take a guess, 1.5 lbs lighter per pair, but I have not honestly put them on a scale to measure. If I have a stock one around the shop I'll try and get some weights for you.
If you are taking hundreds of pounds off the car then look to carbon body panels, lexan windows, lighter seats, no A/C, no heater, no pop up head lights, skinny front runners, smaller brakes....

Working on everything to take weight off Anthony. I'm looking into things like these motor mounts as I don't want to leave any stone unturned. Already removed exhaust for track days, passenger seat, taken out A/C, working on the pop up head lights, have Strange drag brakes in front along with 15 x 4 Welds with skinnies, LG Motorsports coilovers, etc. and we're still at 3100 pounds. Getting ready to go with new 16" rims and slicks on the rear and they're 8 pounds lighter each than the 305/40-17 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial R's that we currently have. Besides, these mounts will offer other benefits other than just weight reduction. Win-win for me. Thank you for taking the time to weigh the stock mounts and getting me a true weight savings.
