Default 1997 C5 How to run a 3 bar?

What do I have to do to run a 3 bar on my 1997 corvette? Current setup I'm running 12psi on a 7065 turbo.. Winter build I'm sticking in a L33 5.3 and going up to a 7875 and would like to run 17-18 psi.

If you don't have HPTunes or any other brand you can't do it. You have to bring it to have it tuned. I believe just get a 3bar map sensor and change it out. That's what i did but had to change the tune.

I am running HP Tuner. But I heard somewhere I need to change my ecu to a newer one?

Not positive about the 97 ecu but my tuner had a hell of a time finding a 3 bar OS that would work with my 99 ecu.

You could run a 3 bar sensor with your 2 bar OS or you could Repin your harness and run a newer pcm. I would Repin the harness because if your ecm ever goes out it will be easy to find a replacement.

HP Tuners doesn't offer a custom 3bar OS for the 97 and 98's. Unless EFI live offers a custom 3-bar OS, you'll have to repin and update to a 411 PCM to get a 3-bar.

How hard would it to repin the harness? Which PCM would I have to run?

whats the problem with just using a 3-bar and rescaling? (repinning must be a lot of fun.)

no 3-bar OS available. If you simply install the 3-bar sensor and enter the voltage and offset information, it'll stop at the end of the 2-bar table, which is what it will be doing with the current 2-bar sensor installed.

o.k., no experience here, just theory:

you scale the sensor (efilive C6301) somehow. then you adjust the ve table (B0101) to match. wont work?

Memory space isn't as sufficient as the 411 pcm's. If it's possible with EFI live, I wouldn't know. Repinning it to a newer PCM is too easy to worry about it IMO.

Can he run a 2.5 bar modded sensor? I am running one on my 01 Z with about 17 psi but the same issue may happen with the older 97-98 PCMs.
