Another NX fuel solenoid failure!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God I check things all of the time. I wired up a test circuit to check my noids before I run my car at the strip. The noids give a nice firm snap when powered up. I had the 75 shot in the nozzle just testing things out and I noticed the fuel noid did not sound normal last Saturday. I had made 1 pass and planned to go for the 100 shot when I checked things out. I felt funny about the sound of the noid. The click was faint and weak. I decided not to make the run until I checked things out further. Good thing I did, no gas at all from that damn noid. I checked my plugs and they all looked good. I hope things are OK. I sure am mad about this, I thought NX noids would last for years not 3 months. Hope you guys never have the same problem.
Now freaked about the gas,
Loud Mouth   :cry :mad :U

Anyway to use 2 noids together? one for backup if one fails. Anyone heard of NOS noid failure? Another reason to go dry.

The crazy thing is that the fuel solenoid is designed to fail OPEN and the N2O is designed to fail CLOSED, to prevent this crap.

Yea, you can run two fuel noids in parrallel and all will be well as long as one noid is working.

Two nozzels are not needed. Run the 2 noids in paralle.

I am going to be addin this as a safety device and I think what you must do it wire both noids in parallel so both must work to operate the flow. If one fails you get no flow. Both would have to stick open to cause a problem. Its just doubling your safety level.

I was refering to what this guys says about install.... mentioned failed fuel or nitrous solenoids doing damage. Some of the issues here may be hard to cover with only other safety devices. I recommend you wire your solenoids with spade clips, so you can easily disconnect them, and test them on a regular basis. Simply disconnect them from the rest of the wiring, then ground one side, and connect the other side to 12V, and listen for the click-click to make sure they open and close. Some folks will also use two nitrous solenoids, in-line, which will ensure that both would have to fail before the flow would fail to stop. Of course you still need to test this setup, to ensure one isn't stuck open.

Re: Another NX fuel solenoid failure!!!!!!!!!!!! (FRC21)
Its simple. 2 fuel noids, they go in parallel-if sticks closed, other opens goes only that way, merges on a "Y" connector prior to the nozzle.
Noid
------------
------- --------- nozzle
-------------
Noid
Nitrous noids-run 2, in a series-(one right after another) -one sticks open, the next one still closes hopefully ------noid------noid-----nozzle
Its simple, see? About $150-200 for extra noids and plumbing....

Re: Another NX fuel solenoid failure!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have ordered all the required AN fittings and connectors for my new nitrous setup. The goal of this setup is "The n20 solenoid should not get activated, unless the fuel solenoid is spraying fuel".
I will report back with more details. Check out this thread regarding to the nitrous setup I mentioned above. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=405580
