Default Any Alternator Relocation Bracket available? PLEASE Help

Hi guys,

I need some help with this as I really don't know what to do.
I have the PTK Complete twin turbo kit but I still lost about the alternator setup I have the mini alternator (Pics attached) but some missing items from the bracket that came with the kit.

So I talked to Bob at Aeicnc for his alternator relocation bracket below

http://www.aeicnc.com/lsx-super-mini...or-kit-rh.html

He asked me to send him the dimensions of the mini alternator but since I wanted the bracket to be a perfect fit in place of the A/C Compressor for my C5 I shipped the alternator to him (I'm overseas so it took time & money to do this)

Now don't get me wrong Bob have been very helpful even though I'm sure he's busy but couple of weeks after I shipped the alternator to him I send the payment and he shipped the new bracket & my alternator back the issue now the bracket doesn't fit and the alternator is hitting the steering rack from what the mechanic told me !!
You can Imagine my frustration as it took a long time to get this order ready and with good amount of money.
Bob replied is we need to raise it with different block bracket.

I also searched found westtexasbuff used 98 Ford Ranger 4.0 alternator bolts up to the stock AC bracket (Pic attached) I'm sure the Mini Alternator will fit perfect in that location.

What do you guys recommend? I have both stock & mini alternator and the car doesn't have A/C anymore so I have more room in the Compressor location and I don't want the alternator to be attached to the passenger head like PTK Kit.

Regards to all,
Sam

Custom DIY front and center single turbo that I built in my garage but I plan to build my own twin setup soon enough so I'm planning ahead.

I would use the 98 ford ranger alterator and enlarge the mounting holes to bolt onto the factory a.c. bracket and wire the pigtail. It is pretty easy. I am the one who discovered that. Since I have the same turbo kit as you and that mini alterator wouldn't charge well for me. The stock alternator and mini alternator won't bolt up unless you make some custom brackets. Good luck

Really appreciate the info.

Do you have by any chance any pics of the setup?
Part number for the 98 Ford Ranger Alternator?
So your recommendation is NOT to install the mini one I have?
Was the gauge for alternator working with the Ranger alternator?

Thanks.

I am currently not running that setup cause I wanted to run a.c.. just look up 98 ford ranger alternator on eBay and they will pop up. The picture you have above is how the alternator looks it has 2 mounting holes that if you enlarge it will bolt up to the a.c. bracket. It will use the a.c. tensioner and pulley from the crank. You will need a shorter 4 rib belt. Also keep the 6 rib pulley on the alternator so it will line up with the other pullies. Then get the pig tail and wire up the colors where should go. I did a Google search and found p/n for the pig tail and schematics. Unfortunately I don't have any info written down. This was about 10 years ago when I did it. I probably still have the alternator in my shed with bracket. I try to take some pics over the weekend. I have the same mini alternator and it wouldn't keep my battery charged. I lost a lot of races and being stranded. I even had it rebuilt twice and they said it was working perfectly. Just got tired of dealing with it. I run a 4 awg wire directly to my battery.

Did you see this thread? Lots of info in there, including a wiring diagram.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...nger-side.html

You'll want the high output one (130amp), which cost extra. I got a reman unit with lifetime warranty from Oreillys for like $150. 1998 Explorer 4.0
