curious?
I have a bone stock 1999 and was wondering what kind of hp. I would expect by adding a supercharger and keeping it safe from detonation? thanks!

475-550whp is probably the "safe" range. You would do yourself a lot of good by adding a meth injection kit with it.

depends on what type of supercharger you use, and how good your tuner is. meth does help stave off detonation by lowering IATs and increasing octane, but it ain't required at that level.
mod-for-mod, a centri can get you a higher horsepower number at the same safety level as a PD unit because it flows better above 5000 RPM, has a progressive power onset, makes less torque overall... whereas a twin screw or roots blower will essentially make boost proportional to your throttle position at any RPM.

preventing detonation is all about the fuel being used and the tune... decide what power level you want to be at and build accordingly

lots of folks "push" stock combos and get away with it based on driving habits. I'll just say tune for ZERO detonation and if you get greedy consider e85 so hopefully save the hyper pistons which are prone to cracking much above 600
cyl pressure can bent rods if you get greedy with too much boost at to low an rpm. a nice turbo setup will be easier on the stock crank and rods.
