Default Nitrous controllers

When does it make sense to get a progressive controller for nitrous? I just got my system installed and I currently have a NX Express Window Switch as well as I'm adding a bottle heater to help control pressure. I just started thinking about hooking up in 1st gear or even 2nd gear on the street/track. I have seen some setups where a WOT switch was put in place so when the car was in 1st gear it wouldn't activiate the nitrous, but I have also heard people talk about progressvie controllers as well.

For someone who has never used nitrous before does it make sense to get a progressive controller now or wait? Also how does NX Maximizer stack up to a true programmable controller?

Progressive controllers are used for many reasons. Whether to gain traction down low or limit the power at certain rpm/speed. IMO above a 150- 200 shot is when I would look into a progressive controller. The Max 5 is a great controller that would do everything you would want to do.

We just came out with a plug and play progressive controller that might interest you as well.

I’d also say anywhere above 150 hp kit as well. Also take into consideration your tire. I have my NOS car working on a 26” Pro Bracket Radial with a Nitrous Leash Controller. You can build different stages and ramp rates. I switched a couple things around in the car and I’m back on a 28” slick. Went 1.23 to the 60ft mark 2 days ago on a 38* night.

I was looking at the second option. It was the reason I started this thread. It seemed like a very simple upgrade for a big gain.

I may start with trying to have 1st gear be locked out for Nitrous and go from there.
