Default HP estimates

Quick question. I currently have an ls1 with prc as cast 225 62cc heads, cam motion titan 4 cam,1 7/8 long tubes with a 3 inch x pipe, no cats, fast 102 with a silver blade 90mm tb, last time I raced it I ran a 11.6 at 123. Still spinning on launch with MT drag radials.

I will be installing an external fuel pump, alky kit and a cam motion centrifugal cam the 228/244 621 604 lift 116+5 cam

Short block is still stock...

Going to put the ecs 1500 kit on. Differential upgrade/rebuild happens next week. Already have a trans brace and Rick wells diff mount installed.

How much rwhp with 8 lbs of boost?

What is the consensus on the cam?

Thanks

Mike

I'll guess 540 whp. Not sure about the cam though, best to ask your tuner what cam they recommend or just hit up BlownBlueZ06 and let Brett spec a cam specifically for your goals.

When I calculated compression before I was at 11.3 to 1. A little high for big boost. When this one grenades I'll go forged 383 and try to lower it to around 10 to 1.

I'm going to miss the lumpy titan 4. I used to have BB Bullets which scared small children and dogs, made old ladies clutch their purse. Made me deaf.

That's a wide split cam. I agree with the above, Bret can spec based on what you want and your full goals. If you want simple imo. Sell that fast 102 and put on a stock ls2 intake for your 90mm tb. You dont need a fast intake with boost plus I have heard fast intakes can split with forced induction. Put coin in your pocket for selling the fast and order a alky kit straight from Julio. Call tsp and get one of their blower cams cause your have their heads or get the tried and tru 224/230 115 " cam. With your heads and that cam you should make 430 na then I guess on 8# with your heads and a nice mild cam 600-625. Add meth and some timing and a safe tune well over 650. Just my opinion. But I'm pretty positive tsp would not recommend that big of a split cam.

I have an alky kit already. Its stored at work with my ecs kit. I will contact Pat G, he does my remote tuning, and get his take on the cam.

Thanks for the responses.

My current cam is 227/232 on a 113 +4. Maybe I should just leave it in there.

As far as intake goes, has anyone installed the new BTR intake yet?

You obviously do not know how blower cams work and shouldn't be giving advise on them,

OP, that Cam motion Centri cam will be fine(The Centri cam, not his NA cam). It will make good power and drive well. You want a big split on blower cam. I have a tick stage 1 223/235 and it drives well and made good power. I will go with some like the Cam Motion blower cam you listed when I build the new motor.

This is the Jam Cam. Simular to the Cam Motion Centri you are looking at in terms of lope. Your tuner can also make it chop more or less

The jam cam would be my choice in building a blower car. But fact are the cam you have now will work fine. The labor to pull THAT cam for a specific blower cam and low-mild boost is not worth it imo to much work for small results. Has been proven countless times. Say you were going from stock ls1 or ls6 cam totally worth it!!
But then again it's your car. Call Pat he knows ALOT

New question. Blower still not installed. Too much going on work.

I am thinking of throwing the cam in this weekend. Differences between the cams are the 113+4 old to 116+5 new. Intake is 227 old to 228 new, exhaust is 232 old to 244 new.

So without changing to the bigger injectors, waiting to put blower on for that, could I drive it without a new tune for 2 weeks? I would stay out of wot of course.

I am pulling the heads to change springs anyway.

If you stay out of WOT you’ll be fine. The fuel trims will keep it in line. You might even be fine at WOT but I wouldn’t test it out unless you have a wideband

That's what I was hoping. I have a wideband and gauge already installed. Of it will have to wait...gotta work again this weekend.
