Default ECS Alky Control Methanol System..

I decided to ditch my h/c/i setup and go with a supercharger..i have a 04z headers vararam tune. I use it only on weekends..street use only. I did some research but still not sure. For my use is ecs the best kit? And i would want a controller. The supercharger would be one that i can get more power later on..not that i have to buy another one. What is everyone's recommendation Thanks!

I don't like meth kits, they are unreliable and are just a band aid. If you are asking if the ECS/Alky Control kit is the best meth kit then yes, Alky Control kits seem to be the best meth kits out there. If you were asking about the actual blower kit itself I used an A&A kit and the quality and support was superb. You will get a lot of subjective answers about which one is better A&A/ECS.

I would recommend calling Josh at A&A and asking him whatever questions you may have before making a decision based on forum member input.

You can contact and buy from Julio directly at alky control. He has a wealth of information to offer and was a big help to me.

Maybe a decade or two ago they were unreliable.

Not so these days, unless the installer chooses to make it unreliable.

I had one on mine for 2-3 years and it worked as advertised, an experienced tuner can also set it up to fall on it's face if the meth fails to spray and that will save your motor... as stated above you can contact alky control direct or get it from Bret

I had to replace the pump at least four times. Just one more pain in the *** to deal with.
Remember that in some areas cars sit for months and not everyone cares to drain their meth tanks and replace with a less corrosive liquid.
It's common for cars that sit during winter to kill pumps as the meth erodes the seals.

I've had the same pump for it must be 7-8 years without issue, and I really dont use the car that often these days.

Lets see, ECS installed my Alky kit in O7'. I just replaced the pump this spring. The only dollar I have ever spent since install. In fact everything ECS installed has been 100% perfect for the exception of a tensioner pulley that also went this spring. I also replaced the original belt with pulley. It has never not sprayed, never stop working prior to the pump. I would say pretty reliable.

It’s about the fluid used. M1 is corrosive and I see about 2 years out of a pump. If your mixing, should last a good long time.

Went from 07' to 19' using only M1. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Julio was rather surprised.

Also have gotten 6 years out of my ECS pump before it started leaking. I’ve only used m1 or m5
