Default some questions about setup!

my car is a 04z weekend car. only mods are vararam,lt headers,160 stat. I already ordered the ecs 1500 kit. if you wanted to make 600hp to the tire how would you go about doing it? what is the best way to raise boost? pulley, restrictor plate? also would a twin nozzle on a meth kit worth it? is 60# injectors enough or are 80's better? sorry so many questions..thanks

With the ECS kit I'd run the restrictor plate to limit intake flow instead of worrying about changing pullies. 600hp really isn't a lot for a supercharged car. A single meth nozzle would be sufficient. I'd run 80s just to be safe and have room to grow

Thanks! I didnt order the 60's for that very reason. The stock pulley that comes in the kit is gd for how much boost?

If you remove the restrictor plate all together you will make around 650 rwhp, a single nozzle meth kit would be more than sufficient and would have a better spray pattern then two nozzles. The 60lb injectors and meth is more than enough for 700 rwhp, but if you plan on turning up the power later then you might as well go with the 80's from the start.

BAP is probably not good enough since you have an 04 that comes with returnless fuel system with regulator in tank. I would recommend adding the auxiliary fuel system to make sure you have adequate fuel pressure ($1000-$1500). I had to do this and now everything is great

Just FYI, I did not go with a meth kit and am tuned on 91 (best we have in colorado). I went with A&A single pump auxiliary fuel system which also adds a return to the fuel rail and puts fuel regulator up front which keeps my fuel pressure solid 58psi even under max boost of 9psi—> I also add a few ounces of Torco (or blend some race gas) to keep my octane at a safe level (93-94) in case of bad gas or heat. It dynod 701 and I have been racing and running it hard all summer.... LOVE IT!!

So do you always have to use torco?

I use it only as a safety measure..... I dont have to use it at all, I’m tuned conservatory with straight 91 octane & dynod on straight 91. I use Torco just to be safe — in case I get a tank of “bad gas”, maybe they put 87 in the 91 tank on accident. Or if it’s super hot and I’m running the car hard (temps get hot quick under boost) the extra octane will hopefully offset any lack of octane or knock due to the heat. Meth would obviously help with this but I decided not to do meth and do this instead.

A&A V3 Ti, which I think is the same as the ECS 2000 kit but not totally sure. Doug should be able to help suggest ECS auxiliary fuel system also, I’m sure it’s comparable to A&A system I have.
Most seem to suggest Meth kit but I didn’t go that route & my tuner didn’t try convincing me either so that made me feel ok about skipping it.
Definitely talk to whoever is going to tune / install since they’ll probably have a stance on the best safe combination for your needs.
I love my supercharger setup now but at first I was quite disappointed because the tune wasn’t very good (shop that installed it) and fuel pressure was not solid —- but fuel system, a smaller pulley and new tune made it AWESOME!

have a 2003 z06 with ported heads, cam kit and lifters, kooks headers, corsa catback, fast intake and ls2 throttle body ported, 699 rwhp no meth 93 octane with boostapump and 60 pound injectors maxed out. I have new 80's in a box. hardly ever drive this car but it does get up and go. all blower work and dyno done on mustang dyno by Lashway MotorSports in Ft. Lauderdale Fla. dyno sheets and pics to prove. thanks. Blower is Vortech v3 ti blackout kit.

no meth, correct. If you do the stage 1 fuel system
now, you don’t need the BAP. Call ECS, maybe they can let you return the BAP and credit it off the stage 1 kit.

1500 and T are the same. I think the JT is bigger and more comparable to the Paxton 2200.

other than the fact ECS would be the best ones to ask, and tune.
But hitting your goal is easy. I run their 2000, on my 04 z at 6 psi and at just shy 600whp, I run Meth, ARHeaders, BAP. They installed and tuned
