sounds like adding the 80 pounders, updating the injector data and a alky meth kit might just do it. I gotta see if I add more pump. I know i need it but like I said, I am not looking for more power just looking for safety so if i do hit it hard and rev past 6k i dont hurt anything. I have never floored it or abused it or even done burnout in it.. The last thrashing it got was by the tuner at the dyno. again thanks for your responses. ed. I am sort of pursuing getting into a tamer car. I dont know if I will keep it or get a deal or trade and replace it with a car my wife and I can drive around in. All of my previous Corvettes were bought with me in mind only. I never asked my wife for permission for any Corvette purchase but I would like to enjoy a Corvette with her now that I am retired so maybe I might let it go for a c5 auto convertible car.. maybe. Lucky guy who trades for this car. It is mint. Thanks again.

sounds like you rarely drive it, I won't do E85 in a car that sits around that much. in this case, mathematically, it's not cost effective to do flex either.
I'll just do meth in this case. if you're must, the path of lease resistance, would be an ECS external kit, with the fuel ring, and just get a tune for it. I like 1000cc at minimum, but the tuner should get 80s to work

thanks for your input. I already have the 80's new in a box so I will use them. I dont drive it much at all. so you suggest ecs (east coast supercharging) external kit with fuel ring. so you think just the meth in this case. I dont drive hard and I dont drive much. it is a mint car with no wear and tear. car just left south florida and now resides in my garage in ocala. what do you think meth kit installed would run?? I almost bought a meth kit of alky controls but did not pull the trigger since my tuner said I was safe with the present tune. thanks. ed. being in south florida who do you go to when you need work done on your car?

I'll just do meth. I won't do E85 if you don't drive it, Ethanol doesn't like to sit around like that.
in South Florida, only shops I recommend is Frank at https://www.facebook.com/PavlockMotorsports and Corey https://www.facebook.com/ProTekAutomotive5
Both specialize in GM/Corvettes, Redline should be good too, but I have no experience with them. Only shop I don't recommend is Lashway, Debatable work comes out of there, their builds don't perform like they should, if they do, they don't last.

Lashway is who built and tuned his car...

lashway installed and tuned my supercharger kit. they did nothing to the motor, heads cam etc... everything works on this car exceptionally.. every light, everything like it should from the factory. no codes ever... no overheating etc... everybody has opinions and most dont agree. when I was there they had tons of ls cars in there shop... camaros, firebirds, zr1 corvettes, z06 c6 etc... heavily modded cars. maybe you had a bad experience but so far so good. quite frankly i dont trust most tuners since they are messing with my ride and my investment. It is just blind luck when you strap in a car on the dyno.. you dont know what the hell is going to happen. You have to have some trust in the tuner based on research and customers that have their cars there. I did my research at that time. Nobody wanted to install my supercharger in the state of florida. nobody. I had called almost every shop and I got the ,, i am too busy.. maybe in a few months etc... ONe tuner just got up and closed his business doors and went out of business. I have had lots of modded cars but no longer want to be at the mercy of a tuner. I have been to 4 tuners in all with all my cars and have not had a problem except for one of them. I have not been back to Lashway because I have not put enough miles on it. I change the oil in the car and the supercharger once a year regardless of the mileage. Now that I am in Ocala I will find a shop closer to my new area. Redline is one of them I might consider. Frankly I dont like running with so much power with stock bottom end and I am not replacing parts and dumping money in a car I dont drive. I might just take off the supercharger and intake and sell them separately. car made 470 natually without blower. Glad you got a chuckle at my expense. I hope you car does not blow up either. How many times I wish I could have bet a guy who thought his chit was indestructible only to put it on a dyno and blow it sky high!! thats a chuckle alright. we are all gamblers. good luck with your rides.

Different perspective, I have no dog in the fight.
A shop/tuner that doesn't race is suspect, but horsepower sells cars. so they stick to dyno tuning, they make more power than anyone else.
Even go to their website and you see their focus https://www.lashwaytuning.com/our-builds https://www.instagram.com/lashway_tuning/
Their recipe for longevity is, don't push the car, stay away from redline, keep miles off it. that may sound familiar. I'm just in the street, at the track, the real world, you'll see the builds, run good for a few weeks, then disappear randomly doing another build. I'll never make humor at someone's expense, if you're going to gamble, gamble wisely. they're hoping you don't know the difference between being fast and making power.
As for my build, if it blows, it blows. I've beaten on it weekly for thousands of miles, doesn't owe me anything. It's not going to fail over something silly and surely not on a dyno.

no guarantees on dynos. top top engine builders, Pat Musi, Lingenfelter, Sonny Leonard etc.. have all had their engines blow on the dyno not expecting it. I dont push my car. I dont go to tracks anymore and wring the hell out of my car for no money... I had a old friend who was in the Corvette business and had about 40 to 50 Corvettes of all types in his warehouse for sale to the public. He had c2 427/425 horse cars, 1968/69 427-435 horse tripower cars for sale etc... all types of award winning cars at very good prices back in the day and he drag raced a prepared 1980 l82 4 speed at the track... but when it came to the street he drove a........Miata!!! why I asked, he said because I can drive this car to 80 percent of its capabilities and not break many laws or chew up tires or waste tons of gas or get myself killed. He said, with Corvettes to run the car at 80 to 100% of its capabilities would get you killed on the street. where do I put down 700 rwhp safely on the street?? in south Florida of all places??? nowhere. If I drove my car at 60 percent I would be braking laws everywhere and probably by jailed in Miami. I enjoy having the power for very quick spirts but not going on a top end challenge to 180 mph or an out of control drag race on public street. My prostreet mustang was way better prepared for drag racing wtih huge tires, roll cage and parachute at 1200 horse on the street. Back in 1996, I would go to Ft. Lauderdale or wherever and could never find a race. Eventually sold the car at a huge loss. Its only money. I will be going to lay a deposit on a new c8 next week. stock and it will stay that way. be careful on those streets I dont wish anybody any accidents. One of my ex tuners was friends with Frank Pavlock on his facebook. Jeremy Preston was the one tuner to close his doors for good.

I do agree that it's much more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow!! Part of the reason why I took the supercharger off my C5.

And you’re the reason I parted out and went LS7 instead of built and boosted LS2. Still not quite slow but not unnecessary either. I did toy with the idea of selling outright to buy a spec miata that was already track prepped.

the miata is more fun than a box of puppies for my cheap thrill I bought a redline sky for 4500 and I'm dropping in a hot rod ecotech that will pump 500 out of the little 4 pot on E

the sky stuff is expensive but I'm a master scrounge

1. saturn sky redline (4500)
2. stir in gen 3 malibu ecotec (out of 105 mile wreck - 1100 shipped)
3. ported lnf head (150 for brand new casting!! porting for heads and intake match 900)
4. big euro opel di injectors (+ 15% flow)
5. upgraded cams with bigger pump lobe (800 with upgraded valvetrain - ouch 400 per cam!!)
6. ti intake valves (turned down LS surplus nascar stuff)
7. iconel exh valves (stock)
8 retuned stock ecm with e85 tune and pump gas tune
9. direct port alchy injection (for no e85 days)

the little gen 3 stock block should hold up, I scrounged an old td05h turbo upgrade setup with downpipe and intake plumbing for 400 on the bay
upgraded turbo cartridge with bigger wheels (250)
still looking for a better lock up torq conv with a bit more aggressive stall to make the cams work better
balance shaft delete for higher rpms

have most of the pieces I need and these used TI valves are the bomb!!
