just trying to get all vortech owners opinions/thoughts on it. dyno numbers, track times, seat of pants difference, problems, anything you'd like to share to a future possible buyer of one. also comparisions to ati, magnuson, cerra are all helpful as well.
Will gladly share my opinions when I get my car back next week. I should also have a dyno graph to share. The only thing is I decided to get heads & cam & headers at the same time.
check out my other post for in-progress pictures....
So far I am very happy, just need to get the tuning completed. SOTP is very good so far. I will post dyno after MMS gets done with the tuning this week.
carrerarod- can you give me some details on your heads, stage II i presume and possibly changed the comp. ratio some? also what are the cam specs?
I think a mild h/c setup plus the vortech and headers, intake, etc. would be a great combo w/o getting too far deep into the motor / wallet
I don't know what the compression is for the heads. Andy changed his mind halfway through the upgrade and went with lower compression heads which he says is better for the S/C. I am getting a comp cam 220 duration with I believe .591 lift.
Andy predicts approx. 550RWHP with this setup. keep in mind that he also put on a set of RK ceramic headers, x-pipe and vortex intake.
Just spoke to Andy.... I pick up my car @ 4pm (PST) today.... :D I will post pictures (if it's not too dark) and my comments about the new setup this evening!!! :steering: :steering: :steering:
I've had mine now for about 2 weeks and I love it. SOTP is scarey, but
the car retains it's drivability. 504 RWHP, 423 RWTQ on an otherwise
stock engine. I even use the factory air box. It is very quiet, however
the exhaust is louder at full throttle. I am very happy with purchase and
the service after the sale from Andy Green at A & A Corvette Specialties.
See ya.... :steering:
