I used an older style MAT sender from an 89 Vette. It has the same size threads as the oil return line so you can use the drill and tap that came in the Vortech kit. I mounted it into the discharge from the aftercooler. The sender will come with the plug as well (NAPA) so you can spice it into the leads that go to the MAF. I can’t take the credit for finding this; it was Mike at MMS that recommended it. I would think that Vortech must pull extra timing and maybe add extra fuel to make up for the lack of accurate intake air temp on their canned program.
I'm going to buy some belt dressing shortly. Will be soaking my Goodyear Gatorback in the dressing before install.
That sounds like a pain! I hope it isn't something you have to do often for weekly maintenance. I enjoy getting in and driving mine without hassle. Are you only doing this to see max numbers on the dyno?
It comes in a spray can. Actually, I think I'll leave it alone at first. After I settle into the setup I'll spray it on the belts while moving and see if there is any different in measured boost and how long it lasts for.
Thanks, they were a pleasent suprise. I'm sure after your rebuild you'll have
some tall numbers to brag about. Right now I researching ways to get that
power to the ground (tires/wheels). Good luck on your racing,I enjoy reading
about it. :seeya
I don't have numbers yet but I finally have my car scheduled for tuning. I am getting it done at Xtreme on Feb 24th. I'll post the numbers as soon as I get back from Tempe.
Maybe you should change and go with the ATI, I have never had a problem with a viper GTS or a modena   of course we were way higher than 120! The racetronix is the way to go.
The time for my Vortech tuning is finally getting close. Xtreme is picking up the car tomorrow. :hurray:
Mike will be doing the tuning on Monday. I am flying down on Saturday will be there for the dyno runs. I borrowed a buddy's digital video camera and plan on taping the dyno activity.
Xtreme will be installing my 3.73s, boost/fuel pressure gauges, and new wheels while the car is there.
