Default just what I needed, another project!

gee I guess having more broken toys is just what I needed!! I got an all black 02 Z06 for a great price with a wounded engine. The car broke a valve spring and the head of the valve is sticking out of a big hole in the piston

block bore looks good, and really pretty minimal damage to the head that can be fixed.

So the winter will be another build. I am going to either refresh the factory ls6 if the block is ok, or go with a small 4.8 iron block that I have on the stand ready to go

That engine is setup for a blower or turbos that would drive the cost up but be more fun when done.

This z needed some love and called to me and followed me home. Time to pull the engine out and see what pieces are still good!

my neighbor got hurt so the 2 post lift is made out of unubtanium

I got curious and pulled the valve covers and see the dropped valve

I pulled the head and the valve head broke off and stuck in a nice hole in the center of the piston.

Head got beat up but not too badly, and it looks like the block might be ok.

so the game plan got more interesting. My build plan is a TTix 4.8 iron block with gen 4 rods and forged wiseco .02o over pistons

I have most of the parts except upgraded clutch and fuel system, I have some FIC 127 lb injectors, and an external pump so I'm looking at the ECS setup to use most of what I have

it's a 2002 so I can get to the tanks and I'll be dropping the drivetrain and cradles to get the engine out

I've got some good pieces down the road if the ls6 block is viable to put it back together

project is taking shape!!

need help with that one too, it will likely be later in Jan for any real progress there. I plan to dial it at around 850 at the tire if you want numbers.

At least its the old fuel system easier to work with. Chris1313 makes some nice looking fuel pump setups.

not a fan of the c5 fuel systems, but I agree the earlier cars are better!! I have my eye on an ecs fuel ring and hobbs switch to control a big booster pump

might replace the stocker pump too with something better. The dual intanks look like a great option too!!

Are you going to run 93 or e85? If 93 I'm running my car on a single 525. Works like a champ.

There chris 1313 intank set up comes with a fuel hat that has the AN fittings already built in so no need for the ECS external pump or fuel ring.

e85 looking for 800 rwhp so I'll need the dual pumps. sounds like a nice setup and keeping the pumps in the tank is nice

Chris1313 pumps are the way to go. Running his dual 525 setup in mine. It's a nice assembly.

ok, too many projects at once and $$ have gone to fix wife and daughter's rides (bank of dad,. daily withdrawls, no paybacks). black c5z is being sold.

12k is the price, IF I don't get that, it goes in storage until funds are avail. If it doesn't fetch the fold, stays in the family.

Nice car, ez rebuild, or I have a fresh 4.8 engine ready to go for a good price that will make the power NA or better still boost it (which is what I want to do)

nothing like falling down the mineshaft with a good pull
