advise on C5 z06 build
I think 550whp is a safe target. Maybe they can get you another 50 reliably.
Assume you will have to replace the clutch and rebuild the TT. As others have said, think about wheel hop: diff mounts, trans/diff brace, etc.
Clutch is a very personal choice, there are a lot of options. I am running a Mamo'd RPS BC2 twin carbon and it is a sweetheart, but $$.
have fun!
i would avoid pump boosters in favour of a pump upgrade. not up to date what they offer now, but the (single) "lingenfelter" has been just fine with 60 dekas. 255 lph out of memory. especially if you ditch the stock regulator and do a filter/adjustable regulator in engine bay. hopefully your car has the pump accessible from below.
the only catch with the kits is belt alignement. i had ongoing belt problems until i found a method to do the alignment that works. try to get an rpm belt.
oh, and the other catch is that you might get used to the power and be wanting more in short time. in that case all that has been said by others applies.
edit: you also dont need any fancy catch can systems, just use the oil cap breather that comes with the kits.

avoid the drag strip launches and the auto will take it You can beef up the 4l65 to hold 1k hp, but not for long!! The stick isn't much better unless you go with a beefed tr6060 which isn't cheap
For my $$ stay sensible with the build and spend time enjoying instead of picking up broken pieces.

I have not upgraded the trans or torque tube (yet) and as Rkreigh says, respect the stock components you don't mod and you'll have a car that is a lot of fun and truly is good as a commuter or weekend fun car that rips.
