Running a stock bottom end - That is why I am keeping the boost low - 5.0 to 7.5 @ 6400 rpm. Shift points are 6400 with a fall back to 4800 at each shift. trap RPM is 6100 - 6200. Trying to add tire spin off the line (2 - 3 revolutions) so as to minimize launching shock on the system. The LS1 tune is conservative 488 RWHP / 421 RWT to also reduce the bottom end strain as much as possible! Change oil every MONTH also.

Sounds like it's running good. Congrats! :smash:
Check the clamp on the return oil line at the bottom of the blower. It's REALLY close to the belt. It'll scrape the belt near the front edge.

Thanks for the tip! We took the car out this weekend again and did two runs in very humid air 11.33 @ 122MPH and 11.34 @ 123 MPH. Checked out the belt and found two marks going the entire length of the belt so I packed it up again to check it out. The first mark is on the top of the belt on the radiator side about 3/16" in from the belt edge, the second mark is also on the top of the belt on the engine side right at the edge about 1/32" in from the edge. I took the car over to FLP so they could check it out. Neither Vortech or FLP knows what is rubbing on the belt at high RPM at 120+ MPH. These marks do not show up on the dyno or the street during testing. The first belt was trashed. The second belt is still OK because I quit running. FLP is trying to figure out what is going on. Dan Bills is checking into whether the alternator pully is causing the engine side belt damage. The boost gauge goes to zero immediately upon lifting at the end of the 1/4 so the pop off valve is working.
I sure hope this can be resolved before May 3 & 4th because I am running the Summitt Points series at The Great Lakes Dragaway on 5/3 and the Great Lakes Corvette Challenge series at Byron, Il. on 5/4.

JR,
Sorry to hear about your frustration and small set back. Believe me when i tell you that i have dealt with MANY of these myself when undertaking the heavy mods that you and I both have.
You are in good hands with FLP and i am sure you will get back on track in the near future.
Best of Luck.

FLP says I need a mechanical belt tensioner and that will minimize any belt contact at high RPM/SPEEDS so I get my car back on the 24th and I will be racing at "DaGrove" testing again on Saturday!!!!!
