You also dont want to be spraying through the shifts on an A4 if you want it to survive any decent amount of time, a window switch can take care of this as well.
I have found that as a general rule of thumb with the corvettes, assuming the car hooks, that every 50 hp of spray you add, you can count on 4-5 tenths. So if you add 100 shot, you will be real close to your goal of 11.40's. You can run a 100 shot all day long on pump gas with out changing anything on the car, except the plugs, you want NGK TR6 plugs gapped at .038. Auto-tap the car and make sure you have no KR, and as long as you dont , spray away!! Your stock fuel system is good to about 550 rwhp. If you start spraying upwards of 150 - 200 shot, that is when you need to worry about timing and racing gas.
Since you got a A4 I would mount a arming switch somewhere and a button to spray when you want. That is what I did. I just used the wot switch for the button. I think this is better than putting it under the gas pedal. That way you are not spraying at a low rpm. This is what a window switch is for if you want to buy one. It will release nitrous at a certain rpm and stop at a higher rpm. This is all determined by the rpm chips you put into it. But like I said you got a A4 like me so really not need for it. I just hit the button after 2800 and let off at 5500 for the car to shift then hit it again.
well.. spraying through the shifts is really hard on the tranny for numerous reasons. all the more reason for a FLP level IV :lolg:
a window switch keeps the spray in a certain RPM range with pills... say 3500-6000 for example. whatever your shift points are, you can set the window switch right below that so the n20 will cut off during the shift and then come right back on once RPMs drop. hope that makes sense
Also the same effect would be had if the button were mounted under the pedal. You would just barely let off the gas in order for the car to shift, and then right back on it!
True. Also if you arent going to be spraying very often, like mainly for just this 1 race you mentioned (beware its addictive ;) ) , and also staying with a small shot it would probably wouldnt hurt to go ahead and spray through the shifts. but if it were my car I know I'd be going through several bottles, and would want that window switch for some cheap insurance
Wet only....I thought I would atleast make you aware! The only wet system exempt from this effect is a fogger system (I think). Also this is usually prone to larger shots though single or dual nozzle system.
However it could happen in a smaller shot if something were to go wrong!
Only a wet system can puddle. But if you have the window switch, this can help prevent it. Puddleing occurs when fuel builds up in the intake and gets ignited from the heat created from the valves. N2O explosions are horrible. My last one cost me 3k.
