How will a stock C5 coupe with a Magnuson supercharger fare against a stock Z06 in:
1) ability to build RPMs fast
2) raw acceleration
3) low end torque
I'm thinking of going with the mag SC, but I won't be happy if it doesn't at least equal a Z06.
You will be able to keep up with a z06 pretty easy. You will make around 400 RWHP on a stock motor. That is about 20% more than a z06. The magnason also makes a ton of torque, so exceleration will out perform the zo6 too; if you dont spin.

:iagree: Most factory ZO-6's are at 350-355rwhp. Bolt ons add another 25. ZO-6 is lighter by 80-90 pounds. It will depend on who puts the hammer down first IMO. Good Luck

Re: simple question (Spiral Bri)
On stock rubber the Z06 will hold traction better, which is usually the difference in a close race. You would definitely hold your own, though
BTW, nice pic in the sig...I see Vette ownership has its privileges :D
Thanks for the advice ! I do have Z06 wheels and Supercars, so that would help. I drove a Z06 this past weekend, and it felt a lot faster than my coupe :( , but I would never want to give up the open air driving. The thing I noticed most was how fast the revs climbed.
Where is the best place to get a Mag installed ? I saw the 21st century muscle cars offered the installation and tune for about $8500. Are there any other vendors that I should look at ?
WOW!!! where was I when you were taking that sig pic :jester
If your curious about how the car drives give me a call and I'll let you try mine (I'll send my number via IM), I notice you have a 6 speed which is easier to tune as the Magnuson produces alot of heat which can cause alot of KR during the hot humid summer months.
21 Century muscle cars is a good place to take the car, I've been talking to them recently about getting their new cam and was ready to take my car in but they called me the day before I was supposed to leave and said they were having some tuning issues and I needed to give them a couple more weeks
You could also buy the kit from them and then do the install yourself.

That could be remedied with a set of 3.90s or 4.10s. The MN12 of the Z06 has lower gearing than the trans in a coupe. 3.90s make it about equal, 4.10s are even lower....This is one thing that will keep a Z06 infront of you, even if you have the same HP and weight.
