Default Stage Modifications

Can someone share with me or send me a site that provides a 1st Stage or beginning steps and higher to make modifications for increased power. I am an owner of a 00 vette and would like to know what can I do to increase the power to 400+

400+hp at the crank/flywheel you can achieve w/ just boltons, i.e. air filter, long tube headers etc.& a good tune, cost $ 2000-3000
400+rwhp you'll need heads & cams or a supercharger, cost $8000+

Speed cost money, how fast do you want to go ?

Go with a heads and cam mod first. The cam should be one of many 114 deg. lobe sep. angle cams that work well either N/A or power adder (see LS1.com sticky note). That should put you well over 400 hp flywheel and in some cases over 400 rwhp for even an automatic car. If you want more, add a mildly boosted S/C kit and dual 3" cats or off-road pipe. Or nitrous. Or turbos. Going this route will also ensure very acceptable drivability (near stock if tuned right) as you go to 400+ flywheel hp in your first run of mods and no further loss in drivability when you jump past 525-600+ flywheel hp when you slap on the power adder.
