I am hard lining my N2O kit, no more steel braided line. How did you guys flare the ends? I have busted 2 flairing tools trying to get the collar tight enough to the pipe doesnt get pushed by the 37 degree flaring head. Any suggestions.
If you are flairing SS tubing you need to get a flairing tool designed to handle SS, as it is very-very hard. Most flair tools are for soft line (copper) flairing. I flair SS at work almost daily. Also, remember, were you jump from frame/body to the engine you should use a short lenght of braided line to take up the movement/vibrations of the engine, or the hard line will eventually stress and break. Post some pics when your done so we can your trick set-up.
edit: there are a few companys that make flair less ends for SS tubing and they are very easy to use and trick. Swage Lock, Bi-Lock ar two of the companys.
i figured out a way to flare ss, with a copper flare tool.
1. put ss pipe in vice with 1" sticking above..
2. take flaring tool and place on top of ss tube (with no collar)
3. take large hammer, and pound the poopie out of the top of the flaring tool till you get the desired flare...
