Re: Need source for modified MSD activation switch (ICULUKN-C5)
Thanks,
I remember reading somewhere that there was actually some kind of voltage issue where the MSD unit could not pick up the signal. Eh, you never know, so that is why I asked.
Sounds like it was balogna eh? So I'll get the regular 'ol MSD unit and make the modification.....is the only change setting it up for 4-cylinder mode?
...the last thing I want to do is spray a 100 shot past the rev limiter...I hate the school of hard knocks!
Re: Need source for modified MSD activation switch (ICULUKN-C5)
Mine worked fine before I tossed it. All window switches have to be in 4 cyl mode to work on the C5. It's just the way it comes out of the PCM. The mod for msd was to make sure the switch could pick up and read the small 5V tach signal coming out of the PCM. I checked my car and a few other LS1's and see a 12V one. Have yet to see this mysterious 5V issue. Some guys did need to send it out to work and it came back good. Others have gotten them back and they still don't work, but that could have been from not tapping into the correct wire for the tach.
Re: Need source for modified MSD activation switch (PowerKraus)
Just for you guys following-up on this thread, I purchased an "unmodified" window switch, installed it via 4-cylinder hook-up as mentioned by other list members, and the thing works perfectly.
So for those of you thinking of needing to send it in for another $35.00 mod, think twice. You may not need it, I didn't
