I'm going to super charge my car and it looks like Andy has the best set up! just wanted to check with every one that has this kit to see how if they had any problems as far as belt slipping/breaking or overheating problems?
I know Andy spent A lot of time refining the procharger kit I just want some feed back before taking the plunge. Also I would like to know how maney hours it takes to install and whats the best cam to use?
I have 1000 miles now since the install and No problems here!
Original cam but I upgraded the valve springs. The temp on the radiator has not gone above 186 so far and I've been out in 85 degree weather. Andy has put a lot of thought into his units and at $5000 is a great value. It is hard to say exactly how many hours it took, but I'd guess at 20+ hours including the fuel pump and valve springs and gauges, etc. His kit went on pretty easy but the extras took an equal amount of time.
Buying the A&A kit is the best thing you can do. I have had lots of S/C related work on my car and by far the lattest A&A creations are by far the best available on the CF. I did have one issue with surging but it was an isolated case and doing a draw through system fixed the problem. I dont think you will have that problem as my car was one in a million that didnt like a boosted MAF. If you can afford it, get the 8 rib D-series... you wont be sorry and it will be money well spent.
ching...ching...
Currently running a brand new LS6 blower motor, heads, blower cam, D-series Procharger @ 11 lbs of boost, Single Intercooler, 8 rib system, ATI crank pulley, vortech racing BOV, racetronics pump, Kenny Bell Boost a pump, 56 lb injectors & a conservative tune = 668 rwhp 570 rwtq.. and loving every min of it.
I will tell you what.. with HP numbers like that, one needs to buy the best clutch money can by as well as upgrading the entire drivetrain (except for the driveline itself)

Yup once you get into those numbers, not much of the stock car will remain stock. Get ready for rear end and trany upgrades, suspension and brake upgrades and on and on. You should think of where you want to end up and plan appropriately.
Well only if you Hook up right????? I have heard it is a lot cheaper to just upgrade than fix it when it breaks See and you thought I wasn't reading

I can drive my vette everyday, I can park it almost anywhere, I can B.tch slap a ferarri and laugh, I can invest my money instead of watching in depreciate in a car at $20k/year, I can modify it as I see fit without going broke or needing Boris to do the work, I can fit my golf clubs in the back, anyone can repair it for me, I can put 100k miles on the vette without a complete tear down of the engine, I don't need a tune-up every 15k miles, My seats are a lot more comfortable, my car gets 18-20 mpg and I'm married so I don't need it to get sex!

Re: A&A SINGLE INTERCOOLER SETUP?? (babala65)
With respect to cams, everybody will give you a different recommendation!
The funny/confusing part is that they are all right!!!
In my lifes experience-I'm old-the mathematical formula for duration at .050 lift is duration=inversely proportional to mental age (not chronological age), i.e. 18-34 yrs, 244/256. 34-45 yrs, 232-244. 46-54 yrs, 224-232.
54-65 yrs, 216-224. 66 and above, back to 244-256 (late life crisis).
Seriously, the best thing is to spend a few evenings researching cams here on CF and then seriously discuss with your tuner exactly how you drive, your performance goals and how many credit cards you still have, and see what his (her) recommendation is and give the most weight to that!
With regards to supercharging-bear in mind that most kits initially are set up for 5-7 psi boost for a reason and the rev limiter is there for a reason.
Andy's drive kits are pretty bullet proof on slippage/reliability especially with higher than stock boost.
If you spend lots of time in traffic on 95 degree+ days you may want to upgrade to a higher capacity radiator-the front mounted IC is very efficient but does add heat and reduce air flow though the radiator a low speeds.
Most people agree that the kit developed for the ATI's by Andy is the best-good luck!
