There was a post on some new AutoMeter gauges "nexus" that can change colors, remember peak readings and on and on. I have not seen them yet but it would be my first choice had I not bought the cobalts.

I really like the technology behind the Nexus line, but FWIW, I've received a few compliments on how well my Defis match my existing dashboard gauges. One guy said how much most gauges stick out and don't look like they fit in, but mine look like they BELONG in the car!

The Nexus gauges you can hook up to a data acquisition system (SD memory card) and record from them. They also can turn red according to settings, such as if you have your boost max set to 15 lbs, they can be set to turn color, so that you don't have to watch the gauge. They are pretty trick, and are priced about $250 each. Which isn't really bad when you price what a regular boost gauge costs. Besides, with what you guys put into your FI apps, what's another $500, especially if it saves your motor?

Just my .02, and you get what you pay for!

For me, boost and fuel pressure are the most important. If you have a boost controller that shows/records boost for you, you may still want to keep boost in your pillar. Your car will be crazy enough under boost that you'll never get to glance down at your boost controller, but you should be able to watch the boost needle in your pillar through your peripheral vision.

If you're going to run alky with your setup, and you're confident your boost will be consistent (maybe turbos are better on boost consistency than blowers), then maybe swap boost for a alky tank level gauge.

You're Welcome Nick and please try here:

Nexus Gauges at good prices...........

I think that the best part of these gauges is that they light up at a pre-determined pressure, so that you can see them without looking at them. It'd be like a shift light, in that you don't actually watch it, but see it ( if that made sense).

If you want trick and something that really matches in a Vette, I'd opt for the Nexus gauges. Defi would be another good choice....but I went with Cobalts and couldn't be happier.

Not trick or anything but i have standard black faced autometers with the red pointers and the silver surround ring - I put the silver rings on the stock gauges and put in white LED bulbs in the Autometers - The colors are almost a dead match and I had my father in the car the other day and he thought the gauges were stock. He was quite impressed with how they matched.

I have Cobalt boost and fuel pressure guages in my '01. Any way to make the dash guages blue to match the Cobalt guages?

I believe they were just direct 194 replacement bulbs...

I forget the website - but i will try to dig it up - they have all different kind of bulb configurations - for whatever brightness you may desire.

http://autolumination.com/194.htm

I have not tried their new "Web Matrix Bulb", but i would think this may be the best for the Autometer gauges in Super white.

I have Pictures of my gauges with some of the standard led bulbs - if i remember tonight i will try to post some pics.
