Default ATF fluid check

Has anyone considered a MOD where you could MOD in a fill tube and dipstick above the A4 tranny. Checking the level now is a friggin hassle.
Wish that one of these Vette vendors had something to offer in this area.

I thought the whole point on not having fill tube dip stick (other then the location of the trans in the rear) was because it is a sealed system? Unless you see it leaking you should not have to check it?

I agree with you, but for one factor: What if the tranny wasn't filled correctly from the factory?

That is my only worry, and I would have to know one way or the other.
That is just me, and I know I have a problem trusting other peoples work.

I agree would be great to have some kind of mod to check ATF.Like some kind of site tube you could screw into the fill plug.

It's not a sealed system, it has a fill plug and a proper procedure for checking the fill level as well as topping off the fluid.

It would be nice to have a dipstick and I even believe it would be possible to have an access panel in the trunk compartment that you could flip open to reveal a dipstick but in order to do this the transmission would have to be removed and a hole drilled in the case, then you would have to fab a dipstick tube as well as the dipstick.

Between doing that and cutting a hole in the trunk floor you would have to completly seal the access panel to eliminate any chance of carbon monoxide gas from entering the car and it's for this reason alone that I think GM decided not to include a dipstick in the 4l60e tranny on the Corvette.

Many GM products do not have tranny dip sticks. examples 98 Olds,04 Malibu etc.
