Chris,

Are the blackouts on the 3rd brakelight so dark it doesn't allow it to light up? It looks like the 3rd brakelight isn't working.....

Mark

PS. Blackouts look on red.

Hey Mark,

Thanks.... and no about the third brake light. That picture you see on the first page of this thread where you can see red through my tail lights was caused by the flash of the camera and not the light of the tail light itself (my lights were off). If I had the lights on then you would see everything in red as normal... but it is a different (and IMO a better) color of red... it really makes the back-end of my red car glow a cool color too.

Thanks Stu... Now that the blackout are on I like the contrast of the Chrome wheels so I'll probably keep them for a while. The chrome is starting to deteriorate so I am sure I'll be needed new wheels in the next couple of years and when the time comes so will the black

I started with the battery yesterday and noticed that the positive cable wasn't torqued down real tight so I took it out... checked it and put it back in tight. I drove to Daytona and back as a test drive and then cruised around this area with no problems... I hope that was it but we'll see... I didn't take any of the connectors apart and check for corrosion yet.

I bought a set from Greg about 6 month ago and haven't installed it yet. I want to install every piece as soon as I figure the easy way to install the front cover.

Chris,
Your car is definitely not rice - it looks awesome. I love the blackouts on red - it looks soooo
Sorry about hijacking the thread with my nonesense, I tend to get carried away :bb :bb :bb

I hate the DRLs - makes the car look like a Buick, and allows Officer Friendly to see you for miles and miles - long before you see him :

To Disable the DRLs : Just take out #2 Fuse from the fusebox next to your battery under the hood. It is marked "Approach Lights".

The only other thing that will be affected is the reverse lights will not come on when you unlock the doors - but they work perfectly otherwise. I have my approach lights on in the DIC because I love how the car lights up at night - all the other lights come on as normal (fog, tail, interior etc.) except the reverse lights.

The only "Proper" way to disable just the DRLs is Jochen's method - which is here

EG

Default What Is The Price Of The Blackout Kit?

Still haven't got an answer from anyone yet, so I'll ask again.....does anyone know what the price on that blackout kit is? How many pieces is it also (does it come with the front light blackouts also)?

If you want a price, just PM gst20psi (Greg) and he will tell you. He probably was not reading this thread. I paid a different amount than Chris a few months ago - but then I bought them from Greg (gst20psi) on eBay.

Thanks... I'm glad NVTHIS posted originally and I found out about Greg... this is the look I've been wanting. Greg has been silent in this thread... must be playing with the two toys in his avatar

Hey Chris, Brian has a hook up on a local shop that will take the time to do an excellent alignment on a lowered vette, including the hassel of getting the lowered cars up and down on the lifts!
