The Black Box
I never directly noted you were the person who would exceed 100+ and honestly, don't care, as long as you are not around me.
If you are so paranoiod, remove the box, and if you get in a serious accident...you don't have to worry about the black box info.

There has been much discussion about the black-box pro and con. There are formula for calculating minimum speed relative to a motor vehicle accident based on road surface, braking, etc. The black box can act in your favor, but in this case it appears that if one is prone to speed without regard of the consequences then the black box can and will work against you. Using the excuse that "I'm the only car on the road" "No one else could get hurt but me" is lame because all accidents are considered when insurance rates are set. All in all, insurance rates for a performance car like the Vette is reasonable. Based partly on the fact that most Vette owners are mature and responsible drivers. From reading this Forum "Geezers" range in age from 17 to 70. Go GEEZERS

Could you ask you buddy how to defeat this snitch box? A scematic diagram would be helpful. Maybe a copy of the software could be had. Is there a fuse that would defeat the box or does it just defeat the airbags and leaves the box active? I'm amazed that even on a Google search that nothing comes up on defeating this thing. This would be far more enlightening if we stayed away from the extreme of vehicular homocide. Let's all assume that we don't want to get our azzes handed to us on a run of the mill traffic accident.
whiteC5vette where abouts in TN do you live anyway? It's time for a road trip.
I'm easy to spot but I won't be sporting the numbers.

In this electronic age big brother is always watching. Black boxes, your IMs, Emails, and Site histroy are recorded and saved by most ISP and in some cases sent to the FBI pending your web surfing patterns.
Now you have camera's on the highways, electronic speed traps... you name it, now you might get a ticket once for every 100 times you brake the law... imagine getting a ticket 100 times out of 100.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
My 'vette doesn't even know it has got a driver's seat most of the time.
The electronics in both the Corvettes I have owned have been soooo flakey that it is hard to believe that they're not really Italian. It probably thinks it's doing over a hundred miles an hour right now as it sits in the car port with its cover on . . . .
Yes, even cars can dream.
And somebody said earlier what is a 16 year old doing with a Hummer. That's very polite, I would ask what is a sentient being doing a vehicle like that? Can they really do 85mph without being thrown off of a cliff?
Here is a 3 minute video that summarizes the Event Data Recorder capabilities.
The last 90 seconds are very interesting.
