ok guys i have found a one its a 1999 coupe vette, but the owner says its the early model Z06 as he calls it, from what the owner claims' it has the thiner windshield/door glasses, and the titianm exhaust. the car has 11,000 miles, color black, the guy who owns it has a lot of collecter car's, and he is williing to part with this vette, it's also a 6 speed, the guy live's like 10 mins away from me, and i have not seen the car yet, but when i look in my corvette black book i dont see any of this information in it that states that there were early model Z06 vettes. i can pick the car up for 25k which is a pretty good deal condsidering the car only has 11k on it, what do u guys think, thanks
it's a hardtop?if so,it's a little lighter than the standard coupe's,but after all is said and done,it's a 345 hp vette,NOT a z06!for 25 grand, you can get a newer vette, mileage notwitstanding!a 2001 w/low miles can probably be had for around 31 ish.give or take a little.however,a car is worth however much you're willing to pay for it!ask if he had the column lock problem fixed,if it consumes oil,if so how bad, etc.look around the for sale section to get an idea of pricing out there.but again,if you like the car and the price is fair TO YOU,then that's all that matters!happy hunting, and good luck.
The Z06 first came out in 2001. There was never an "early model" Z06. Besides Z06's do not have a removable roof panel like a coupe unless you mean it is a Fixed Roof Coupe (FRC). In either case it has a 345 HP LS1 motor, 6spd MN6 trans and Z51 suspension. The titanium exhaust is probably from a Z06, many people make that upgrade.
Z06's have the LS6 motor, MN12 6 spd trans FE4 suspension and numerous performance and strenghtening features not available to the Coupe, Vert or FRC.
I think that $25K is a little high for a '99 coupe, even with those miles but may be worth it to you if it is a perfect one owner Vette and exacltly what you want. Check out the for sale section in the Forum.

Don't believe anything this guy tells you and I would highly recommend you have the car checked out well before buying.
I just bought a 2000 fixed roof coupe, black on black w/ 22K miles for $26,500 and LOVE it... Find out if the car has HUD, CD player, etc... If the car is in perfect shape and w/ low miles with all the paper work, that's a fair price IMO. I had a hard time finding my car, so if you feel like its what you want (and you'll know, deep down) - buy it and enjoy the thing!
Its not a Z06 as the others have said that's for sure, so I would quiz him a little on that one - try to find out if he's just iqnorant to what model his own car is (seems unlikely to me) or if he's trying to bs you on the sale (way more likely).... either way have the car checked out by a master mechanic and take all his info with a grain of salt...
25k would be the top dollar retail price for a perfect reasonably optioned car. For a private party sale you should probably knock a couple of thousand off the asking price. But like everyone else has already said, it is not a Z06. He may have added some ZO6 parts....
Good luck with your purchase. I've always enjoyed my '99 FRC!
i used to work for the guy, he does have a lot of high end cars in his collection, i was working for him the day he bought the corvette, i was still in highschool and it was an after school job, the car is basily brand new, in the last 2 years it has not even seen 300 miles he told my dad today, i knew there not a "early" production Z06, i know a lot when it comes to em, he said i could have the car all weekend (this weekend) to see if it what i want, and not to metion the guy is a muilt million dallor man, so 23 to 25k is pocket change to em, i will take some pics and post em up fro you guys when i get the car, also i cant remember if its a coupe or frc, and i do know the difference, lol

My guess is that it is a Fixed Roof Coupe - not a Z06 but still same body style. Had the basic Vette engine in it (LS1). Did not have titanium exhaust on the '99 and '00 FRCs. Either this guy is full of , or he just doesn't know about the cars. If you get serious about it, have it checked very carefully. Good luck
