Mold line on mirror?
Just noticing character about our new C5. Is it normal to have a line from the base up to the top of the outside mirrors? Almost looks like where it may have been in the mold, or possibly a tape line.(see arrow)
Thought maybe you guys/gals could save me a trip to the dealer.
Thanks in advance.

No, bought it used. It is on both sides, so if replaced/painted they matched it pretty well. I thought about the 3M angle...will look closer tomorrow to see if I can verify an edge on the bottom side.
That is known as a witness line.... it is where two parts of the mold come together under pressure.. after making thousands of parts, the witness lines grow alittle from something called parting line flash...

Now we know! Thanks ET. BTW, when did they do away with the mirror "wings" on the convertible? Did they finally get the aerodynamics figured out with the C5?
