Default Halltech Stinger

Finally I installed the Halltech Stinger I got on the GP from nate@corvettegarage.
Installation was a breeze looks and sounds great.
No Codes... No issues with rubbing hoodliner, just had to tweak it a bit.
Will post pics after I do my Baer Eradispeed and Eradispeed Plus 1 Upgrade with powder coated calipers & SS Brake lines.

Could you define "tweak"? I'm considering the Halltech Stinger, but I've read in previous postings that the air bridge on the Halltech either rubs the hood or creates a "bulge" in the hood when it is closed. What did you do during installation to eliminate these potential problems?

Thanks.

Tweak...
I too had the dent in the Hoodliner and I looked real close and found the new airbridge wasn't stitting tight against the radiator top cover.
To fix this I loosened both Clamps on the coupler and shoved the airbridge as far as I could toward the throttle body and retightened them I'm pretty sure the airbridge almost touches the throttle body. It now sits hard against the radiator top cover. Voila no more rubbing.
I also installed the Performance hood seal.

Mine sits perfect as well...no rubbing that I noticed ........

I did mine today too. It wasn't as easy as I expected after reading the posts here, but I attribute that to the cooler weather here causing all the plastics and rubber parts to be very stiff. Except for that, it fit nice, looks good, and caused no problems during the half hour I had the car out today.

Thats funny, Did everyone install their Halltech today?? Cause I just got done about an hour ago. I got mine during the GP as well.

I have 1 question. When I bought my car it came with the Vortex intake. That intake did "Not" use the little rubber hose thing on the drivers side at the intake. I noticed there was a hole in the filter. Does this install there?? If so, How???
It looks like I may be missing a part the went with the stock airbox.
If I dont use it, Will this mess anything up??

When I said it went like a breeze I meant everything went well no problems no issues of fitment and everything went exactly according to the instructions that came with it.

Yes, there is a hose connector (from the OEM airbox) that plugs into the Halltech Warhead air filter. If you don't have this, you may not be able to connect that hose. You might want to pick one up at the dealership.

I love mine. My hood would not shut the first time I tried but I didn't have the smooth coupler on good enough. After some minor tweaking it worked great. Enjoy!

Must have been Stinger day. I did mine too. It was harder on mine since I had to drill a hole and install the down stream air temp sensor. The PITA was getting the sensor out of the stock airbridge. I finally did it, but I was sweating breaking it. Works great no probs.

Looks great! What did you guys pay in the GP? What do these typically dyno?

I am shopping for a better cold air intake and will likely do the LS6 intake/ported throttle body at the same time.

Check my sig, although it includes the Borlas that were added for their killer sound characteristics, not added HP. The Halltech adds more than 10 RWHP and for $199.00 (GP price), that's the best bang for your buck, anywhere.

Default Halltech Stinger Install

For those of you who haven't installed it yet.
The best tip I can give you is when removing the MAF from the air box take a plastic tool of some kind or a screwdriver and pry the rubber up all around the MAF this will break the joint between the Aluminum ring on the MAF and the Rubber on the airbox. It is stuck on real good and you need to break this bond before trying to pull it off, otherwise you will be there for a long time.
mrgil.
btw my car is an '03 if that makes a difference.
