Default Alignment question

I've got a 98 vert. I just installed 18 inch Z06 (265x35 and 295x35) wheels all around and Monday the Z06 bars and Bilsteins go on. THe question I have is does it make sense to go for a little more agressive alignment - Z06 - or stay with the stock specs. I don't want something that will tear the tires off as this is a frequent driver with no track ambitions.

Is there a consensus on this?

Advice please.

If you're not going to track it, and use it just for driving around, then just set it to the stock Z06 settings. IMHO

I'd go for the stock Z06 set up, too. It shouldn't tear up the tires - but once you feel the new tires with the improved alignment, you'll find yourself taking on/off ramps much faster ...that will tear up the tires!

with everything above. Largely depends on the tires you are running. Stick to the stock Z06 specs and maybe even on the conserative side of that for tire life. You will have to drive like a crazy man to overdrive that setup on the street.

Be careful what you ask for though...

For example, the stock Z06 camber is -0.7 +/- 0.5 meaning anything from -0.2 to -1.2 is technically within Z06 spec.

I would be very specific as to what you want. A dealer should be able to get it pretty close to -0.7 front.

Here is a suggestion for you for a mild street setup (should be within Z06 specs):
Front
Camber: -0.7 (matched side to side within 0.1)
Caster: Max positive, matched side to side (should be around 6.5 or so)
Toe: zero to very slightly out (like 0.1 degree out total)
Rear
Camber: -0.5 (matched side to side within 0.1)
Toe: zero

If you want better handling while sacrificing a little tire wear, increase front camber to -1.0, which is still within Z06 "spec".
