Default Radiator Crud

In the process of fininishing up my winter modes for some serious High Performance driving at VIR next weekend. I happend to look up into my radiators.

I saw soo much fricken grass and crud ( track worms i.e. dead rubber) and other STUFF . I am normally very good at keeping my radiators clean, but this was rediculous.

I took a high pressure air hose and a 2 foot slim tube and blew all the crud out of there.

This first pic is all the crud on the floor came from the radiators. I had just cleaned the foor pior to blowing out this stuff.

Happy and clean radiators.

So guys dont forget to clean your radiators out to prevent over heating. It does not take much grass or crud to cause the temp to go up.

I have some wire mesh screen I will install this week when I am ready to put the front spoilers back on.

These things do suck up a lot of debris from the road. I clean mine out every time I wash the car.

Good reminder.

I vacuum North Florida tracks and roads all the time.

The most common thing sucked up is plastic bags. It's also the worse since that will cause overheating in no time.

Clean your cowl drains while your at it, too.

WTH are you doing mowing the lawn with your Vette?
Thanks for the heads up I washed mine today (38 degrees ) and checked it and it looked really clean. I did suck up a plastic garmet bag at Christmas time. I thank God it didn't melt.
I saw it in front of me and looked behind me and it was gone. Knew it had to be somewheres.
Wife is still amazed how I could get it out with a suit on in the church parking lot.
We were not late for the service.
