Pep Boys had a lightweight Torin jack on sale a month or so ago for around $69. I got it. Its 3.1" off the ground which is good.
The negative is, its hard to control a smooth let-down of the jack. When you twist the handle it releases pretty fast so you've got to be ready to twist it back quickly. Somewhat minor inconvienence.
I got mine at Pep Boys as well. It too, is just a wee bit too tall for initial jacking with a puck. Once one corner's up, I can use the pucks on the rest of the jacking points. I've been able to work with it without a problem. The biggest drawback is the flathead screwdriver release. It's a little unnerving at first, but once you learn to control it, it's great.
I bought a low profile, aluminum racing jack from Harbor Freight several months ago. Plenty of clearance under the car, works great!
Will either the Sears jack or the Harbor Freight one fit beneath the rear cross-member so the car can be jacked up from there before placing it on jack stands?
So far, all the pics I see show the jack being used on the side rails of the car. Mine's be lowered about an inch and my regular floor jack it too tall...especially when the front is up on ramps.
I think the one listed above from Sears is a little cheaper if you have the "Craftsman Club" card. I hope to swing by and get one before they go off sale.

DK13HLQ from asedeals.com $399 with free shipping.
It's expensive but high quality and it is 3.1" high for a length of 16" (I need that reach for my kwiklift shortened up to 13 feet). It also lifts 29" high so I can backup on the kwiklift, jack up the rear and slide the Rhino ramps under the tires to make changing out the catback at breeze.
I also opted for the rubber saddle cover (lower left corner).
In the last pic above the DK13HLK is on the left (mine) and the DK20 is on the right, if you don't need the reach of the DK12 the DK20 is a great jack for $259 shipped. They both have the 3.1" height and a great safety feature is the hoop handle which must be pulled and twisted to lower and it lowers with a continuous slow speed.

I got a 1.5 ton, Craftsman from Sears. Love it ... similar to E-T's. Just more red.
My wife gave me this jack for my birthday last week....claimed she got it on the internet from Sears for $88 plus tax!! Great jack even though the box claims "aluminum lightweight"! I wouldn't classify a 60 lb. jack as lightweight!!
