Your not alone. To me I always wanted to be a Pilot and please excuse me for those members who are, but this is as close as I can get to that freedom of well being. hopefully there is no cure!
While you drive down the road in your vette, how conscious are you that you are actually driving a vette?
I'm significantly aware of what I am driving. Not from a "hey look at me" perspective, more from a "this is an eff-ing great ride, can't wait for the next safe opportunity to go WOT, take a hard corner, stop on a dime, etc."
Is this common, or should I seek professional help? (I'm thinking that a track qualifies as prof help.)
Ya' know that's funny because so many people DO think that it's the
"Hey look at me" thing. Truth is, is that I couldn't care less if anyone
ever sees me or knows that I have this car.
I never bring it up in conversation and if someone else does, I
downplay it and change the subject.
I wish I could drive on the road and never, ever see another car.
It's more my enjoyment only.
I don't know who I am. I have lost all self awareness. The vette is under wraps in the garage waiting for Spring. Haven't driven it since early November. My waving arm is out of shape. I think the grin from my last ride in Nov has worn off. I am miserable. Maybe I should start drinking??
Most definitely the way I feel as well...the best machine I've ever driven. When I'm in the daily beater during rainy times, I sorely miss it...
When I bought the Vette, the plan was to drive my beater as a DD. After about 2 weeks, I was so discouraged with my daily commute, (due to the Vette factor) that I had to go out and get a DD that was way more performance oriented, just to keep me sane between fixes...
During the winter I drive an old Ford Explorer however I think about the vette while I am driving. I think about shifting and taking the next curve in the road. I find myself waving to the brave ones that drive their vettes in this weather. I guess I am also a vette a Holic. Otherwise why would I be on this forum every night???
