I suppose I can't fault GM for this, it makes sense budget wise. And if my car of choice were a GTO, etc. I would love the fact that it had the "same engine as the Vette". I used to hear this from Camaro guys all the time.

Ultimately, no matter what they put the power plant in, it takes a lot more than just the motor to make it a Vette and the other cars that carry said motor just don't measure up to Vette status. The differences in weight, suspension and aerodynamics do make the Vette the better performer, and to match up the other guys will have to spend some mod money to equal the Corvette"s performance.

I don't understand why everyone focuses so intently on 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times. The Vette is a sportscar - the other cars are muscle cars.

So what if they can take me in a drag race....let the road get a little twisty and it will be adios ****!

So they have an LS1, LS2, LS6 etc. They don't have over 50 years of tradition being the only SPORTSCAR that matters! JMHO!!

Yikes I hope this argument doesnt begin again..
StuzVette muscles a mean quarter mile time...
...and takes curves with the best of them...

The High bank tracks give StuzVette chill bumps...

Still...there's something about a lightweight F-body that always concerns me... :o

Won't tear mine apart either. The CTS-V, waste of a perfectly good LS6 motor.

New GTO's are nice cars, but they are not in the same class as our C5's. GTO drivers with expereince don't want to play with us.

Good point.... I like the fact that there is so much knowledge out about the Corvette (especially here) that can make working on it myself a pleasure.

I just want to make sure I don't get embarrased by grandma in her pretty little GTO or her teenaged grandson in his camero.
