Maybe I'm restating something here but, What I'm going to do is crack open the visor clip opener and hard wire a small push button switch to the contacts in order to activate the open and then mount it on one of the small cheap dash caps(ie.rear hatch button, temp sensor, ash tray panel). Then mount the physical opener under the dash with velcro. Total cost will be $3 for wire and switch at radioshack. And my kids won't inadvertantly close the door by playing with the lights.
