[Z06] Squeaky Steering Wheel

Squeaky Steering Wheel
Does anyone on this forum have this problem? Sometimes when I turn left or right, a squeel come out of the sterring column.

i have had 2, 2002's
both did it....
but mine made noises up high in the column, about where the wheel attaches...
i have heard of a lower column sqeek
my cars had less than 20k when they did it... good luck

had it on my 2000 coupe near the steering wheel - never got it fixed - traded it in. i think there may be a tech service bulletin on this subject - this may be it - ???

My 03 had this problem for awhile but now it's gone. Don't know how or why.

This problem came and went on my 2003, more often in warm weather. I gave it a few careful shots of dry silicone spray last summer and I think that might have cured it.

Thanks for posting. Stupid question, but I guess removal of the steering wheel is required.
