I'm pretty sure NHRA calls for an exterior mechanical door release, which the C6 does not have. But it does at least have a means of operating the door from the outside of the vehicle, even though it's just an electronic button inside the handle.
If you shave the handles completely and can only open it via remote, there is no other exterior access, and this is what presents a problem.
The intent of this rule is obviously so the safety crews can extract you from the car as quick as possible in the event of a crash or fire.
