Newbie owner of a beautiful black 03 coupe. i know there is a wide range of quality when picking out microfiber drying rags to dry your corvette with - by you only get one chance to screw up. i was looking at west coast corvettes catalog and was thinking of buying theirs, which is 27" x 37" and goes for $19.99. I dont mind paying a little more, but i want the best - especially with a black vehicle. Anyone with the west cc towel?

The ones I got at Walmart of all places are GREAT - they even use cotton thread and not nylon - They were a FRACTION of that cost

I am not sure about the difference in quality but you can buy a big bag of them at Sams for under $15.00. They work great on my car for both drying and wax removal. They seem very dense and certainly don't leave any marks.
Not sure that I'm an expert on Micro Fiber, but if I were you I would check www.detailking.com. You'll find a couple of different blends of fiber 80/20 and 70/30. I think that the 70/30 blend is the better towel -- I've been very happy with the 70/30 towels that I bought from them.
I have two different grades, both from Wal-Mart. One set is yellow and one set is blue. Use a dry, clean one to dust the inside of your car and it will remove every speck of dust and lint it touches.
I also use them for final buffing of a new wax job and have noticed they will add a noticable amount of shine beyond what is possible with terrycloth.
I have some from both Pep Boys and Wally World. But you need to look at the sizes. The WCC and Eckler's for $19 are much, much bigger than you'll find elsewhere.
I use the smaller ones for windows, larger ones for the car.
How well they work doesn't depend on the car's color.
Not sure about the forum rules on linking to non-supporting vendors...but the Big Blue II Drying Towel from ProperAutoCare.com is great. I have 2 and used them many times on my old Black VW GTI. Works great, no complaints!
I use the towels from Walmart on my black and pewter car. They work really well on my black car. Pewter has so much metallic that it doesn't matter which towl I use. I find it weird and cool that these towels can be soft but clingy at the same time.
I get the MicroFiber towels at Pep Boys and they work great for taking off wax/polish and cleaning the windows and interior. As for drying the car, nothing beats a 200MPH leaf blower
There have been any number of threads on microfiber and other towels in the Car Care Products section of the Forum. You might want to check and see what the folks over there recommend. Here are just a few of the later threads there on this subject:
Make sure you are talking about Micro drying towels......not a microfiber towel.
I would use these products for drying
$8.99
$9.99
For a microfiber for wax/polish removal and/or buff use
$9.99 (3pack)
