Default Buying new hood for supercharger?

Do I have to buy a new hood if I get a supercharger? Are there any superchargers that can fit under the stock hood?

Yea the only one I can think of that requires a new hood is the magnacharger.

I'd love to have a magnacharger for my daily driver but I do not want a new hood. I will eventually get a procharger kit by a&a which fits underneath the stock hood.

I originally I had this.

It was a little too aggressive for me.... that's why I changed to this. (BTW, I have an ACI hood for sale)

A&A Procharger.

I had the factory ATI Procharger and it was a belt shred nightmare. Andy's kit (A&A) solves all of those issues, has a single more efficient intercooler and is just a major improvement all round over the factory system.

Looking to get a A&A in the very near future to replace my ATI factory unit.

Many members also use the Vortech with excellent results. Magnacharger needs a new hood and is limited on how far you can take the power limits. But with the Magnacharger - unlike the Procharger and Vortech - you get off idle torque - tons of it.

Whichever one you choose, you will find that it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

An ATI Procharger or Vortec will fit under the stock hood. Go with the Magnuson and you will need a new hood.
