Duh, that is why he wants the phone holder. So he can put the phone down and drive and the phone won't end up on the floor, or under the gas or brake peddle!!
Duh! If he was paying attention to driving the car and worrying about yakking on the phone after he parked, he could stick it anywhere he wanted and it wouldn't matter. It doesn't matter if you use hands free or not, you can't concentrate on driving if you're on the phone.
By putting my phone in the console and wearing the 'tooth headset, I can focus on the road and the HUD.
That's not what any of the studies say. Your MIND is on the phone call, not on the road. It's not where your hand is, it's where your MIND is that matters.
It's Jackalope's world - we just live here, huh? Some of us unfortunately HAVE to answer our cell phones when they ring. I would think that pulling off onto a shoulder on a freeway at night MIGHT be more dangerous and distracting than pushing a button that is for all intents and purposes on the side of one's head.

You just THINK you have to answer the phone..... are you telling us that if you happen to be driving in a state that prohibits using a cell phone while driving that your upper management is telling everybody to break the law.....
I don't think so, and I also don't think that the judge will pursue your boss if you are the one ticketed. Think about it. Unless one is an emergency first responder, or military on immediate reaction stand-by I stand by saying, let the phone record the number and return the call when it's safe to do so. If you are tangled up in a guard rail or school bus, even if your phone is now planted firmly in your ear, you are no longer of any use to your organization.

Wow, ponderous. I'm thinking now! Look, I have customers who rely on me to pick up my phone. I can tell that I'm not going to convince you that I can do it safely. I've been driving without an accident for 29 years and, though you can't know it - I'm safe to the point of being boring. You drive without your phone - I'll continue to do what I think is right and I'll wave at you *CAREFULLY* when we pass. Peace my Vette brother!

It's very interesting to see how this thread has been hijacked. Check Verizon.com and you will see a couple of options for the Treo in the accessories menu. I have a 600 and found some options there. The others mentioned above look promising also, just a matter of personal choice.

Well said. I've been in a job before that required me to answer my cell phone when it rang...in days before this, no one expected it, but now they do...such is life. I've since left that job...
The guy didn't ask for opinions on cell phone safety...he just asked where he could put it...
You could always pick up some velcro and put it on the console or dash area...then it'll stay where you put it, even when driving aggressively.

Your right, all that extra advise should have been in another thread, as one of the guilty parties, sorry.

The phone has NO constitutional right to be answered. Don't worry, if it is important they will leave a message and you can always call them back. Life moves to fast, slow down and leave the phone at home somedays. JMO
