You just THINK you have to answer the phone..... are you telling us that if you happen to be driving in a state that prohibits using a cell phone while driving that your upper management is telling everybody to break the law.....
I don't think so, and I also don't think that the judge will pursue your boss if you are the one ticketed. Think about it. Unless one is an emergency first responder, or military on immediate reaction stand-by I stand by saying, let the phone record the number and return the call when it's safe to do so. If you are tangled up in a guard rail or school bus, even if your phone is now planted firmly in your ear, you are no longer of any use to your organization.
It's Jackalope's world - we just live here, huh? Some of us unfortunately HAVE to answer our cell phones when they ring. I would think that pulling off onto a shoulder on a freeway at night MIGHT be more dangerous and distracting than pushing a button that is for all intents and purposes on the side of one's head.
Jackalope didn't do the studies that show that, in spite of the convenience to YOU, when you're on a cell phone and driving, you're dangerous.
I'm sorry if you feel that people who read are selfish, but I'd rather be selfish than be killed by a distracted driver.
I have a motorolla with a blue tooth motorolla headset, bought a bodyglove carrier with belt clip for my phone. they make simple stick on attachment that works with the belt clip. I would definitely recommend the blue tooth wireless headset ($80-$100), especially if you have a 6sp.

Ah, another forum member who gets the question. If I recall correctly (it's been a few posts) the thread starter asked the "how" question not the "if" question. It is answered well here and by a few others. And for the safety obsessed, perhaps you should dwell in the FI/Nitrous section where you can scold those who transform their cars into lethal over horsepowered death missiles.
Hey guys. Thanks for all the feedback. FYI, I have to do alot of business in my car. I drive my Vette everyday, unless it's raining. I'm flattered by the numerous responses.
PS. I tried mounting the phone, but like my wife, she said she had a headache.
While out running yesterday, I saw a new Yellow C6, the first thing I noticed was the relatively low amount of tire noise. the second thing I noticed was the lack of any exhaust note. It sounded horrible..
the next thing I noticed while wating for the light to change was this woman with two cells phones.. one in either hand and she was talking on both of them...first into one then into the other. You see so much while you are on foot. I was seeing red. I have seen a woman with coffee, a cell phone, and doing make-up while she was driving.
First of all, I don't talk on the cell phone while driving...anymore. I was with a buddy that was talking on the phone when he started to lose it, but his dumb azz wouldn't get off the phone, and he put the car in the ditch. Last year I was checking my voicemail while driving, got a message I was hoping I'd never hear, and promptly spun the car into a curb. The most I'll do now is answer the phone to tell the person to hold, then drop the phone to pull over.
Back on topic....I store my phone AND wallet in the door handle.
Can't be caught gabbin and going in Ohio.
Sorry, but people who use cell phones when driving should pay fines.
Recent studies show that cell phone fatmouthing makes people drive like they are eighty years old.
Flame me, but that's my .02.
I suppose putting the damn phone down and driving the freaking car is a bit much to ask, huh?
Amen, brother!!!!
In the last few months, I have counted 7 incidents where I had to take evasive manuvers to avoid a car driven by someone talking on/fumbling with a cell phone. One of the incidents involved a guy turning the wrong way onto a one-way street and heading right towards the front og my C5. I was trapped in the lane and cound omly just hit the brakes and horn! At the last second he figured it out and stopped about 6 inches from me!!!!!!! It was a real heart-in-your-throat event for me..I was ecpecting to get hit. He had to endure my foulest language at the top of my lungs about his G** D*** cell phone and driving like s**t. I only had the Corvette about 4 weeks and it would have been a shame.
