It depends on how it has been drivin. I have 67,000 on my Vert and I just did a clutch inspection. It still looks real good. They can last well over 100,000 miles if treated right.
My '03 MN6 is my first manual tranny in 15 years. When braking for a stop sign or traffic light I find myself downshifting pretty much everytime (I love the sound and the feeling of the engine rev...also I figure it's better on the brakes to let the engine absorb some of the momentum), I usually don't let it rev past 2500 rpms in any given downshift. Can anyone tell me if this practice will wear out a stock clutch or tranny prematurely or is the stock setup strong enough to handle it?
Hey Doc,
Mine is original ('97 coupe) and still strong at 95,000. I don't beat on it much, but I'm not averse to some spirited shifting fairly frequently. I don't power shift, I just get off on the acceleration after a good clean smooth shift (especially 2nd to 3rd!!)
well, the smell of napalm in the morning........my friend noticed the honeycombs being expelled from the exhaust, so it's time to replace the catalytic. Lost of power and burning metal smell after you peel out.
