I have my 01 Z06 for sale. 5100 miles and perfect. Someone came by today and made an offer and I took it.
He said his dealer warned him about cracked blocks in the early Z06's. The only way to tell if it's cracked is by doing an oil analysis. I told him I'd never heard of any Z06 cracked blocks and that I watch this an other forums alot.
The guy did mention that the dealer was disapointed in not getting the sale himself.
Has anyone heard of this or is the dealer just trying to scare him into buying one of his?
That's utter BULL****... in 2001 all f-bodys an C5's got the LS6 block and intake manifold. There are no accounts of anything like that. Ever LSX problem has been hashed and re-hashed on here.

Al,
Keep it and tell him to take off eh? At 5K miles, mint, you should realy try and keep it. How much I was just thinking I needed another Z06 as a daily driver... Good luck and I say go with a brooker, makes life easier for you. Good luck!
Dave

I thought it was about 30% of fbodies that got an ls6 block??

I bet the guy was telling you the truth. Recommend strongly to him to avoid the dealership at all costs, but if he felt he had to have that dealership work on his car, to bring along a big 'ol tub of KY jelly...he'll need it.
