A good story! Congrats! But store it for another two months? I doubt you will have that kind of self control ..... 
I have always reinstated my insurance on March first, just because the weather will occasionally co-operate and the rain washes most of the sand off the roads... Nothing like getting a jump on the driving season!

Congrats!!I only had to drive from San Diego to Los Angeles and back to get mine.... BUT, I hadn't driven a stick in 20+ years and got stuck in LA bumper to bumper traffic with fender benders all around me. It was white knuckle time all the way home!

Welcome to the 50th Anniversary Club! I know exactly the route and conditions you are talking about, as I went to college in Rochester. You'll likely never catch me there again!
