Yes, but you are going to have to get some heavy duty jack stands that will extend up to about 20 inches off the ground. check JMX's turtorial at LS1HOWTO.COM. He does the whole installation using jack stands
I used 4 jack stands. I also had the front tires on Rhino ramps and the rear tires on 10" X 10" lumber that I used to rest the keel of my boat on. That car wasn't going anywhere. I wasn't about to get squashed for a set of headers.
While I was at it, I did my oil change, new plugs, and checked out everything under the car.
Did my QTP's laying on the ground, but I also have carpet in my garage so it was nice and comfy
I blocked the car using the wood blocks the boat yards use. I don't trust jack stands since my Suburban almost came down on them. I had to have the car up about 20" from bottom of the car to the floor to get them in. Other brands may be different.
i installed my LG's in the garage. no big deal really, but the front has to come off the ground pretty high. you also have to have the rear elevated so you can get the front up as high as you need to.
Of course. I don't know which headers you are planning to install
I installed my KOOKS headers, by myself on ramps and jackstands. You don't have to raise the car any more than the height of the ramps. The KOOKS go in from the top.
According to LS1howto.com, you'll have to raise the car up pretty high to get the LGs in. 18-20 inches in the front as the one goes in from underneath the car.
Be safe, especially if you intend to crawl under work on a car sitting on jackstands raised to such a height .
