Theres been a lot of posts about forum members who have removed the body molding. Do a Search of the archives and you'll find a ton of opinions. Many remove them, many like myself like em and have left them on.
Some have even claimed getting an extra 5 HP by removing
Are you indicating this may not be a true statement?

By the way, the 97 Coupe I'm picking up on the 10th of March doesn't have the BSM's. So if any of you are pulling them off of a Sebring Silver Vette, please let me know if you want to sell them. I do a lot of paint work in my job, so if you're interested in selling yours even if they're not Silver, I may still be interested.
Just drop me a PM.

Hi Richard - in answer to your question about serving as a door guard, the reality is that they are so low on the car, that most cars and particularly trucks/SUV's have doors that would hit much higher on the car - above the BSM.
So it comes down to appearance - like 'em or hate 'em.
Personally, I was ambivilent about them before I got my car - and after I got it (and it didn't have 'em) I decided the car looks much sleeker without them.
But as the others have said - it's your car, do what makes you happy!
