Im Thinking About Taking My Side Moldings Off The Door And Fender. I Know This Was An Option But I Think It Looks Cleaner Without It. I Know Its My Car But What Do You Guys think?
Many have done this and without damage to their vehicles, but there have been a couple of casualties requiring paint repair. Search threads for removal process. Good luck ... you'll like the clean look I bet.
Welcome Theres been a lot of posts about forum members who have removed the body molding. Do a Search of the archives and you'll find a ton of opinions. Many remove them, many like myself like em and have left them on. Some have even claimed getting an extra 5 HP by removing
Totally up to you and what you like. Also, they are (as I understand it) rather simple to remove. Again, you find the How To by searching the archives. Good luck

I agree with you, I think it looks cleaner. I removed mine a couple weeks ago!
This is probably one of the most brought up topics here on the Forum and has caused a number of squabbles in the past. When it comes to the BSMs, you will find two very distinct camps here on the Forum - those who like them and those who don't and never shall the two agree. That having been said, you should do what you like.

Couldn't say it better myself. It does seem more people are starting to like the clean look everywhere. Bsm, trunk and hood emblems
If you do decide to take them off, I would highly advise using 3M's adhesive cleaner to do so. Several of the automotive store will have it. It will not harm your paint. Just keep soaking it adhesive strip from the top. Then wet one end pulling slowly and keep soaking it from where you're pulling. Once it's off, just wash off the remaining adhesive with the cleaner. It works great!
I don't know yet, because I won't have my C5 for a couple of weeks; but don't these BSM's serve as door bumper gaurds to protect the door from others opening their door into ours?
By the way, the 97 Coupe I'm picking up on the 10th of March doesn't have the BSM's. So if any of you are pulling them off of a Sebring Silver Vette, please let me know if you want to sell them. I do a lot of paint work in my job, so if you're interested in selling yours even if they're not Silver, I may still be interested.

I happen to like the looks of the BSM's. But, it is your car and if you like it without them on, remove them. Either way, you will still have a fine car.
I personally think they look great with them on, but as mentioned before...this is a heavily posted topic that does create some debates on what is better looking.
