When talking to a saleman today about buying an extended warranty on my car, I asked if I would be covered under the warranty if I changed out the stock air filtering system for a high flow after market set up.
Did his nose start to grow? If it didn't it should have. I have an aftermarket warranty and I have multiple mods and it's still covered. Read this link...
My car is still under the original 3/36,000 and I've had it in several times for this and that warranty work and I've never had a problem or even a raised eyebrow with my cold air induction unit. It's usually the very first thing people swap out on their vettes. I'm shocked that a warranty salesman would say this to you considering they want to make the sale at any cost.
IMHO...you will not have a problem at any garage...mechanics live in the real world...warranty salesman live in contracts.

I agree. Check out the terms of the actual contract carefully. I have had a Blackwing on my car during the original factory warranty, my first aftermarket extended warranty and now with a second aftermarket warranty (Warranty Direct). All knew that I had changed out the air filter and I have had no problems with denying work.
No matter if it would be covered or not that is a bad sign. I would look for another company. Post a thread and ask who has had good service with an aftermarket warranty.
