Another Battery Question
How can I tell if my battery is original on my '02. Should it say GM or Delco on the battery?
Also, after reading about several batteries leaking, does anyone make an after market box for the battery to set in that will not allow the acid to eat through.
If no one is making this piece, this will be the 3rd idea I've come up with. The first 2 were turned into products after I thought of them.

I'm not sure about the originality issue. But you can get a battery box at a marine store (boats). however it's probably a better idea to just get an optima red top and then not worry about it. Mine's a replacement Glass mat from delco and shouldn't leak but one never knows. I keep a close eye on it and will go to an Optima soon!

Sorry to curb your zeal for invention and possible $ signs, but most of the accessory people sell absorbant glass mats to put under the battery. Any leakage is stopped dead. They cost about $5.
But a gel battery seems to be the way most people (including me) go. This is mostly because the OEM batteries are rubbish anyway, regardless of the leak issue.
